Last night (Tuesday) long-standing international brand Kiehl’s celebrated the Grand Opening of their first Melbourne boutique with a New York
Style Street Party at the iconic Melbourne Central.
The Kiehl’s New York Style Street
Party included some great entertainment from internationally renowned DJ
Andy Murphy (who was always ready
to strike a pose and get his cute grin on), a roaring entrance by
the Kiehl’s Harley Davidson
crew, catering by NYC style hot dog stand, Massive Weiner and a
special guest appearance by Kiehl’s fan, Zoë Foster Blake.
Zoë, a long-time fan of Kiehl’s also showcased her highly acclaimed book, Amazing
Face.
Kiehl’s can be found
on the Ground Level of Melbourne
Central.
The scene was set and it did feel like we had just boarded off our
flight from Melbourne to New York. As we walked down Melbourne Central we could
hear the sweet beats of Dj Andy Murphy blaring, so we knew we had found the
place. Then the Kiehl’s boutique was brightly
lit up with their New York style neon signs and red, white and blue balloons. The smell of wieners was in the air and Moët, Budweiser,
a&w, Dr Pepper and water running freely around the designated area. I could
not help but duck into the store and have a good look and feel of the products
up for sale there. Maybe I did maybe I didn’t take a few bits of candy off the
table, after all they looked so good and yummy (the dreaded gummy bear was
calling my name.)
Firstly, we were greeted with bubbles and
wieners ;-) by the lovelies at the launch. I was then very lucky to have
met and had a really good chat with Zoë Foster Blake, who is a down to Earth amazing lady (but not before I had
the chance to make sure all presence of the wiener and mustard were gone.)
I couldn’t help but
purchase her book and have it signed by Zoë herself. I am
looking forward to getting my head stuck into it actually, as the book is full
of beauty tips and hints that Zoë has gathered through the years. She actually told me she just emptied
her head onto some paper and that was the creation of her book.
After the hustle and bustle settled down a little, the street and
Melbourne Central was filled with a huge roar as the Kiehl’s Motorbike crew rolled
on up to the boutique on their shiny Harley motorbikes kitted up in their Kiehl’s tees.
Then shortly after that was the official
opening of the boutique that saw the lovely Zoë Foster Blake cut the ribbon and have the
many paps snap some shots. But before the ribbon was cut she spoke some words
and also talked very highly of Kiehl’s and its products. One product that Zoë recommended and that she said was her all
time fav is Kiehl’s new Dermatologist Solutions Actively Correcting &
Beautifying BB cream. And looking at her skin I will have to get my hands
on some of this stuff, Zoë’s skin was flawless.
We were actually thinking about leaving
after the ribbon cutting but for reasons unknown we stuck around. And lucky we
did, as Hamish Blake popped up out of nowhere and made an appearance. I thought
he would be the type of person that would be very above everyone and stick to
himself kind of thing. But instead he went out of his way to speak to everyone
that was there and was very friendly. Zoë was never far
behind of course, and these two lovebirds would have to be the sweetest couple
I have ever laid eyes on. They are very inseparable and it was great to see the
two together at such a special Grand Opening (especially considering they would
have had a huge night Sunday at the Logie’s with Hamish
taking out one of them golden statues.)
Some other special guest that were there included
Miss Universe- Scherri-Lee Biggs
Katy Steele (singer/songwriter) and so many
more.
I had the time of my life and it’s all thanks to some lovely ladies out there
inviting me to such a great Grand Opening of a very beautiful brand. Thank you
so much ladies, I cannot wait to try out all the products in my very generous
goodie bag.
