Lipfinity Review- Colours Of Winter

Sunday, 29 June 2014

Let your lips do the talking this Autumn with NEW Max Factor Lipfinity – the best-selling long-wear lip innovation from Max Factor now available in nine glamorous new shades that deliver up to 24 hours of fresh looking colour without drying out or caking on your lips, thanks to its intelligent two-step formula and innovative new applicator. I know for a fact there is sure to be a shade you like if not love even if you are not a lipstick wearing women.

This product has been loved by many celebrities including the amazing and well known Victoria Beckham’s in her recent New York Fashion Week Show. The models sported a ultra-polished, understated glamour rock look.

How does it work?

Unlike other long-wear lipsticks, which can appear dry and dull on the lips, NEW Max Factor Lipfinity delivers long-lasting colour that feels soft and lightweight all day long, whilst still delivering an alluring shine and intense colour hit. This is due in part to the smart new bullet-inspired applicator which, compared to conventional doe-foot applicators, delivers a much thinner, more even layer of colour. Dr Sarah Vickery, Max Factor Principal Scientist, comments, “A thinner, more even layer of colour maximises the long-lasting performance of the lipstick. Because the applicator deposits a more consistent and even layer of lip colour the result is a much more even coverage that will, in turn, lead to a much more even wear.”

That’s not all. Lipfinity’s intelligent formula combines adhesive colour with a silicone basecoat to ensure that there is no transfer of pigment to most types of food and drink – meaning your lip colour stays put all day with no need to reapply after eating or drinking.

BASE COAT

The highly pigmented base coat contains a combination of adhesive polymers to ensure the colour sticks to your lips and a flexible dimethicone layer that ensures the adhesive element is soft enough to flex as you move your lips
TOP COAT:

The moisturising top coat seals in moisture and delivers a super alluring shine that lasts all day

THE RESULT: Long-lasting colour that feels smooth and soft to touch whilst still looking freshly applied for up to 24 hours

I am in love with my kissable lips that do not leave embarrassing kiss marks on my girls cheek. I think I will be buying some Lipfinity for my mother this Mother’s Day so I can avoid the lip tattoos on my cheek this year J So affordable I might even end up buying her a few!

The colour I am loving right now is #180- Spiritual

With the colder months and the tones in clothing going for the more Earthy shades I thought hey why not match some amazing Earthy lips with it!

New Max Factor Lipfinity is available from May in at total of 15 shades, RRP $30.95.

Sally Hansen Triple Shine Nail Colour REVIEW

When I know I am going to an event the preparation starts days before. I usually wash my hair 2 days before the event so my hair has just enough oil to hold my look but to not leave my hair looking oily and gross. Then the day before if I am wearing a dress I will fake tan, that night I will sit down and do my nails.

For me I LOVE nail wraps and in my mind there is nothing better, and the reason for this due to the fact it chips and never looks good the next day when you use nail lacquer. But if I were to pick one nail lacquer brand that stay put for at least a few days I would have to pick the Sally Hansen range.

Sally Hansen Triple Shine Nail Colour $9,95

Now Sally Hansen is bringing maximum radiance to the season’s most covetable colours with the new Triple Shine Nail Colour. Sally Hansen knows that high shine is what you crave. Yet, daily hand washing can eat away at colour due to water’s high pH, detergent can dull shine, and everything from chlorine to heat can damage polish’s precious luster.

The amazing innovative formula features a one-of-a king ultimate shield complex, which is designed to help polish withstand the wear and tear of every day life- especially being a Mum.  Then you also have the bonus of not having to apply a high shine top coat as this polish goes on shiny and I am not even sure a matte top coat could dull this shine J

THE TECHNOLOGY:

Triple Shine Nail Colour is formulated with an Ultimate Shield Complex, exclusive to Sally Hansen. It is a carefully balanced blend of solvents and colour solids that work synergistically for high impact colour and maximum shine. It delivers Triple Shine benefits via:
  The Gloss-Tech Brush designed specifically to apply the Triple Shine formula. It lays down polish smoothly and evenly to form a glass-like, flawless finish that maximizes lasting shine – and looks “just applied” for days
  An exclusive complex of Pro-Vitamin B5 and Vitamin E for daily defense from water, detergent and every day wear plus Sea Kelp and Panthenol for maximum hydration
  Guanine, a natural crushed pearl found in aquatic life delivers a natural iridescence and high- impact, lasting shine
Triple Shine Nail Colour is available in 27 shades in three trend-setting colour palettes, including a rainbow of vibrant, saturated polishes in bold brights, ethereal, pearlescent pastels and shimmering metallic and a glittering selection of aquatic tones that evoke the sun-dappled sea.

The 2 shades I was sent were:

# 170 Great White- I know exactly how this shade got its name and that of course is from the Great White Shark. This is almost identical to that of the big shark, it is a beautiful shade of grey and one I love wearing with almost any outfit.

Scale Up

# 340 Scale Up- I am not even sure how I would describe this colour… Like Shrek has thrown up on my nails, but in a pretty way (if that is even possible.) It is a green base colour with specks of different colours through it like white, blue, red, yellow and more. I do like this as it draws attention to your nails and looks great on the nails- not so great in the bottle..

The only negative thing I can say about this product is the fact that the lids are not secured on properly and the square part completely comes off (see two images above). I did even get pinched but this, which hurt like a *****!!

Sally Hansen Triple Shine is available from April 2014 from Priceline, Target, Kmart, Terry White Chemists, My Chemist, Coles, Woolworths, Big W and independent pharmacies nationally.

Quick Fix Facial Masks REVIEW

Going to a beauty spa and having a facial is always a great way to unwind and also treat your face.

But for me it is just not an option and I barely can cut out half an hour of my time to sneak into the bath alone let alone head to a beauty spa for a facial, so I have to find other ways around it.

For me it is jumping into the bath when the kids have gone to bed and then applying a mask and two cuts of cucumber on my eyes and sinking into a bath for half an hour. Some masks however have to come off early then that as it will irritate the skin.

I have literally found the Quick Fix, as it is a range that has three great masks for three different problems. Here are the masks and my thoughts on all three of them.

Quick Fix Anti Blemish Mask- $8.95

This mask is meant to be for those with problems such as excess oil, congested, blemish prone skin or general combinations.

For me I have combination skin and only ever really suffer from oily skin in the extreme heat, so I was a little funny using this mask as I was scared it would dry my skin out.

The Anti Blemish mask contains dead-sea mud, which helps to absorb the oil and put it under control. After using this for the first time, I thought to myself I would only ever have to use this mask once a week if I were to use it continually, but this was not my favourite of the three.

Quick Fix Exfoliating Scrub Mask $8.95

Exfoliating scrubs for my face are the ones I tend to keep away from and really don’t like them as I have sensitive skin. I would be lying if I said I used this on my face and was happy.

Instead I tried this on my arm to see how gentle it was and how the beads worked away. It was very gentle and had great sized beads, but I did not find the courage to use it on my face as I have only just got my face back to normal after a wave of breakouts.

This scrub is cool though as it is a clay-based mask containing Pink Rose clay, so it looks pretty on. But like I said I was just a little scared using it on my face.

Quick Fix Mega Moisture Mask $8.95

THIS is my favourite mask, hence the reason I have left this for last- saving the best for last.
More then anything I find my skin to get quite dry and flakey at the best of time and this affects how my foundation and how it goes on no matter the primer I use.

This mask really does help to moiturise and happy to use this every third day or so. I actually love using this mask as it knocks out the need to use moituriser every single day.

The mask contains hyaluronic acid, which replaced moisture and helps provide deep hydration to the skin. And then there is also Vitamin E helping to keep the skin in good condition and looking fresh. I have not had a single pimple now since using this mask.
My next little thing I want to try out is making my own face mask and trying the organic side of things. If anyone out there has some hints or tips what works best please let me know.

JUNE Scholastic Reads

June Reads with Scholastic

May brings some very horrid weather along with some beautiful days and on those cold almost Winter like days we stay inside and find things to do and READ. The girls often have a story read to them in bed by their amazing Daddy, but I tend to read to them during the day to try and wind them down for the afternoon.

Snail and Turtle are Friends- $24.99

Snail and turtle is a story about a book of two very different creatures coming together to be great friends. It is about two friends enjoying spending time together. I find it quite funny that a turtle and a snail are used, who both have shells and are both slow creature in the animal world.
On page 18-19 of this book if you run your fingers along the page, where the grass is behind snail you will actually feel a snail trail that the little snail has left. I think this is perfect for little kids to learn, and also a little bit of fun.  I also just noticed on the front cover there is a snail trail on turtles back, you will see the shiny spiral on turtles back.
The images in this book are beautiful and I love the fact that two friends that are different and the same like spending time together and being the best of friends.
Karana: The Story of the Father Emu- $15.99

I absolutely love this book, and love reading it to my girls :0) And so does their Daddy!
The words all rhyme and can even be sung if you want to have a little more fun with the book like I do with the girls.
This story is about an Emu, a Daddy Emu none the less that looks after his chicks in eggs and then goes on to teach them all they need to know about growing up and looking after themselves.
I love that the Author – Uncle Joe Kirk who is actually a Wakka Wakka elder, brings some of his stories to life in a book. I would have loved to see more Aboriginal art in this book though, as I absolutely love their traditional story telling art!

Possum’s BiG Surprise- $14.99

All of Flossy the Possum’s friends are planning a surprise birthday party for the possum but on her way home she thinks she sees her friends in certain places, except they hide and she is off thinking they are scary things. So Flossy never actually makes it home instead she is then greeted by all her friends, and they throw an amazing

I personally love all the Australian outback images and how well they fit into the cute story, which is also like a poem in a way. I wish I had an Australian outback party like that of Flossy the Possum’s was given.

Dinosaur Adventures- BEST Winter Holiday Day out

On Friday 20th June we stepped back in time- WAY back in time to the prehistoric ages.. Well kind of J We were invited to come along to a special preview of the Dinosaur Adventures, which has been set up under a heated big top at Caulfield Racecourse.

If you don’t want to drive, the train stops right out the front. There is parking but it is limited and at certain times you must pay to park.

Dinosaur Adventures is an exhibition that is captivating young and old alike. Explore a prehistoric world full of life-size moving dinosaurs and be amazed and thrilled as the greatest creatures ever to walk the earth, return and come alive right before your eyes.

Marvel at the story of their 200 million year domination of life on earth. Watch them move. Hear the roar. From the ripple of their skin to the glint in their eye, you will think that the dinosaurs really are back!
Apart from this amazing animatronics show, you will be able to become a Paleontologist for the day. Children will be provided their ‘experts digger outfit’ and chip away at their very own fossil. Plus there will be many more dinosaur activities to take part in including dinosaur sand art, dinosaur library, fossil displays, dinosaur activity land, dinosaur sand pit, photographic souvenirs inside a life sized dinosaur egg and so much more.
The cost of admission is: $27 and Under 3 is FREE. I think this is a great price for what you see and experience inside.

A spectacular dinosaur exhibition with realistic animatronics
We were first greeted by a giant T-Rex who moved, blinked and of course ROARED (really loud, which initially scared the poop out of Madison.) Everywhere you look there are dinosaurs moving and interacting with the crowd, it was truly amazing and is crazy how far we have come with technology.
  An Interactive Fossil digging area
That is the line behind the T-Rex head
This was the only thing we didn’t get around to doing as the line was very long, and we had an impatient almost three year old. There was no way known she would have sat there and waited in the long line do dig up some fossils.
Have your photo taken in a dinosaur egg
Super cute and would make a great photo, again this was something we didn’t do as it would have looked a little funny just having Madison in there and not her sister (as unfortunately Hayley could not make this one!)
  Dinosaur Sand Art
We didn’t actually see this one, either we are blind or it wasn’t operating on this night- but sounds great never the less.
  Camp Fire Story Telling
Madison’s favourite place to be was sitting and listening to the Dinosaur stories. We walked away and got an ice-cream and she ran straight back here to listen to the store and sit around the camp fire (which obviously was not a real fire- rest assured Mummy and Daddies.
  Dinosaur activity land
I am pretty sure this is where Madison made her wooden puzzle dinosaur, which you can take home. The super cute mini tables and chairs are surrounded by Dinosaur artifacts and statues- I loved this as a little resting area J
  Dinosaur Sand Pit
Warning, you will have a child that gets sand EVERYWHERE- at least we did. I think even now I can still find sand in Miss Madison’s hair, but that is all apart of the fun!

Plus so many other dinosaur activities for the whole family .
My two beautiful Dinosaurs
Including a number of jumping castles, which are free of charge. Once Madison was on these the workers (who are suitably dressed in Jurassic Park style get ups) could not get her off and her inner T-Rex came out.

We had an amazing night and the Dinosaur Adventure’s will make for a great WINTER HOLIDAY day out! You escape all the harsh elements of Winter and enter into a world of Prehistoric enjoyment.

The Dinosaur Adventure’s run from:
21st June - 20th July 2014

Where: Caulfield Racecourse

Tickets are through Ticketek www.ticketek.com.au
