When I saw this arrive in my Inbox this evening I just had to post about it. I am very upset I didn't fly to Sydney now to attend some of these amazing shows. I think in a way the Sydney shows have a lot on Melbourne's fashion festival week.
But the thing that sold me is seeing these photos and have actually inspired me to just put my hair on the line and go for a totally different look then the one I am wearing now. It has been a very long time since I have had my hair done and I know it is time for a change.
I might be able to find some inspiration this Sunday at the Salon Melbourne Event, which Goldwell will also be attending and showing off some looks.

Goldwell®, leaders in professional salon only hair colour, proudly partnered with Camilla to create a hair look that featured strong contrasting earthy colours to bring to life her new Spring/Summer 2013 collection Pachamama which invokes the awareness, feeling, and genuine love and respect for Mother Nature, or as the Incas called her Pachamama.

Camilla Franks, a seasoned traveller, drew on her personal journey where she was reminded to reconnect with the land. A healer in the Queensland hinterland invited her to get back to the source, back to nature. This led to a worldwide journey where she has created summer prints inspired by how these cultures create a spiritual connection to Mother Nature.

Franks highlights the importance of colour in creating the runway look and also in her choice of hair partner for her Spring/Summer runway show. As my Pachamama collection invokes the awareness, feeling and genuine love and respect for Mother Nature, it was important that we captured this essence in the hair design for the show. We wanted to evoke the beautiful colours of nature; earthy tones like moss green, silver, aubergine and orange. To do this we needed to work with the best in the business and Goldwell® is renowned for their colouring expertise. Our Hair Director, Jenny Kim, has brought my vision to life. The result is the most beautiful, healthy and natural looking Goddess hair. It was also important that the hair was not uniform, that it had different colour contrasts, different lengths unique like the Camilla girl.
Prema for Goldwell® Hair Director Jenny Kim, wanted the hair to reflect the natural earthiness of the collection while also showing the strength of the Camilla woman, Pachamama is the word the Incas used to refer to mother nature.  This collection was inspired by a personal journey to reconnect with the earth and its mother.  For the 2013 Camilla show, we wanted to showcase a free spirited woman, who was one with nature and a bohemian at heart but we also wanted bring a refined edge to her which is how we came to the silky sheen in the hair. There was a desire to use contrasting tones in the hair and I thought it would be interesting to take that contrast a step further and use colors that were rich and earthy which brought a luxurious component to the tones of the collection.

To achieve this look, follow Jenny Kims step-by-step instructions below:
1. Prepare the hair by spraying Goldwell® StyleSign® Just Smooth® moisturising styling milk from root to ends.

2. Dry the hair and create volume at the roots while stretching and smoothing the ends.

3. Create a clean parting down the middle of the entire head all the way back to the nape.

4. Starting a half-inch away from the parting, create another section all the way back to the top of the occipital bone. Repeat on the other side.

5. Take all the hair below this section on both sides and smooth back into a clean tight ponytail at the very base of the hairline and spray flat with Goldwell® StyleSign® Sprayer hair lacquer.

6. Glue a coloured hairpiece in front of the ear at a 45 degree angle. Glue a piece the same size at the top of the sprayed down section, right to the hairline. Repeat on the other side.

7. Glue in the sewn together hairpieces on the back of the head along the top of the sprayed down section, from ear to ear.

8. Drop the top section down, fill and create length with matching natural hairpieces.

9. Flat iron the hair with Goldwell® StyleSign® Sleek Perfection thermal spray serum.

10. Finish off the hair with Goldwell® StyleSign® Diamond Gloss micro-fine shine spray to add shine.

11. Cut the ends of the hair straight.
* The key hair colours used for the Camilla show include terracotta (rusty copper), seaweed (muddy green), plum (a rich deep purple), and silver (frosty white) all created using the Goldwell® Elumen® range.
